Instructions to make Poha or avalakki gojju:
- Make powder of poha in mixer. Make tamarind juice and add jaggery powder, little salt and sambar powder and Keep it aside
- Take one pan and keep it on low flame. Heat oil and add Bengal gram, urad dal or black gram then mustard,jeera, hing, dry chillies, ground nuts, cashew nuts (optional), curry leaves salt, turmeric powder and dry coconut powder and saute well for two three minutes and off the gas stove.
- Mix all tadka to poha mixture and mix it well. Now it is ready to serve. Serve it with curd.(And garnish with fresh coriander leaves and coconut powder if you wish)
It is a unique recipe from Karnataka. Instant Gojju Avalakki is something which reminds me of my childhood. As a kid ,I used to love this a lot as it was not prepared at my home 🙁.
