  1. First, heat a nonstick or flat pan, add 2-3 tsp oil and shallow fry the paneer cubes and keep aside.
  2. Now heat a deep bottom kadai, add 2 tsp oil. Add cardamom, jeera, cloves and cinnamon stick, red chilli and saute for few seconds. Now add ginger, garlic, onion and green chillies, saute until onion becomes light golden brown. Now add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Saute for few minutes until tomatoes are tender. Now add 1 cup of water (you can increase or reduce the water quantity based on the gravy consistency you want).
  3. Now add sugar, cook for few minutes until the masalas and onion-tomatoes are perfectly cooked. Now switch off the flame, keep for cooling. Remove the black cardamom from the mixture, blend the mixture into thick paste and keep aside.
  4. Now take a clean deep bottomed kadai, add butter. When butter melts, add green peas or matar and saute for a second, now add the blended purie and mix well. Cook for a minute or two. Then add the fried panner cubes and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add kasuri methi powder, mix well. Switch off the flame. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves (optional). Serve with phulka, paratha, steam rice or pulav.
