There’s hope. Kids need some additional encouragement and guidance along with a few of those strategies your kid is guaranteed to eat healthy.
Make a gatekeeper.
It is very likely the simplest way to get your kids to eat healthy is to remove the less-healthy choices. Take control over what meals and snack choices are in your house. If a kid is hungry they’ll eat it when there isn’t an alternative. Perhaps you have heard of a kid starving to death since his parents wouldn’t feed him potato chips?
Keep healthy meals in sight.
As for those less-than-good-for-you foods, maintain them in high cabinets and from your kid’s reach. Organize your fridge and cabinets to ensure healthy foods will be the first foods that you see. Taking some of the mystery out of where foods come from may work wonders for some discerning eaters. Plant a vegetable garden for a family endeavor and place your kid responsible for watering and picking the ripe vegetables. Kids who are involved are far more inclined to be a willing participant in the ingestion process.
Keep Your Eye on Portion dimensions.
Parents often stress over how much their kids should be eating. Whether you are trying to receive a discerning eater to have a bite of green or limit the sum of dessert that your sweet-toothed kid needs watching portions is essential.
