  2. Heat the oil in a pan, asafoetida and Cumin seeds and allow to sputter. Now add finely chopped onion and fry till golden brown. Add in the masala paste. Cook for 10 minutes till there is no raw smell.
  3. Now mix salt, coriander powder, garam masala powder in 2 tsp water and add in. Mix well & continue to cook till masala leaves the oil.
  4. Meanwhile, grind peas to a coarse paste. Once the masala is cooked, add the peas mixture to it and cook well for 6-7 mins on a low flame while stirring continuously. Then add potatoes too, mix well and cook for 2 mins.
  5. Now add water depending upon how thick you want the gravy to be. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 mins till the gravy is done.
  6. Switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with roti or rice!
