  1. You need 7-8 red tomatoes
  2. Use 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  1. Wash the tomatoes and pressure cook for 1whistle by adding one glass of water. When done,keep aside to cool.
  2. In a mixie jar,add the boiled tomatoes and make a puree..of it.,if required dein add little water while grind.
  3. Heat a wok,add ghee,add mustard seeds,let it splutter,add cumin seeds, green chillies, curry leaves.
  4. Add the dry spices(turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder and saute(do not burnt the masalas).
  5. Add the boiled tomato puree stir & add the water left in the pressure cooker, &add some hot water,see the consistency,how u prefer..
  6. Add salt and jaggery. Let it cook on low flame for 5mins..
  7. When done,garnish wdh coriander leaves or curry leaves..
  8. Have this tomato Saar wdh hot steaming rice,pickle and papad.
