- Provide 1&1/2 cup Moong Dal
- Use 2 tbsp Urad Dal
- Provide Pinch Salt
- Provide 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- Take 1/2 Cup Oil
- Use For Sugar Syrup:
- Provide 1 Cup Sugar
- Provide 1&1/2 cup Water
- Use 3-4 Cardamom pods
- Take 1/4 tsp Kesar/Saffron

- Wash and soak moong dal and urad dal for 4-5 hours.
- Then make a fine paste, make a thick paste not runny.
- Keep it aside for 10 mins.
- Add a pinch of salt and baking powder and whisk again nicely.
- In a vessel, add sugar, water, saffron, and crushed cardamom pods & heat it until all sugar melts. Don't make the sugar syrup thick, as the Muga rasa bara won't soak the sugar syrup.
- Keep the sugar syrup aside. Add oil in a kadhai and add oil to it. Keep it in low-medium heat.
- Dip you fingers in water. Take a small portion of this batter to your fingers, then drop in the hot oil. Before sliding the bara to the oil, ensure it's hot enough. To check, drop a small portion of batter to it. The batter must rise without browning. This is the right temperature.
- Cook the bara for 2-3 minutes and then tranfer it into the hot sugar syrup.
- Let the bara soak the sugar syrup. And Enjoy it once cool.
